About Me

My photo
I've been into dollhouse miniatures since the early 1990's now and when I realized how much I've learned during that time, I thought I'd make a blog to share my knowledge with others. I'm mostly auto-deduct, but always found help on the Internet and in specific books. The mini-world starts and ends with your own imagination, so let there be no limit. And never say : I CAN'T .... because you can, you just need to try and have the necessary know-how. And that's the main reason why I started this blog, because I wanna share what I know with newbies in the miniature world or anybody else who might be interested in sharing what I've learned so far. So, hopefully, I'll be able to provide some useful hints, tips and tricks for those of you out there just starting with this wonderful hobby

My French Bakery : DIY Furniture / Shop Counters

Hi ✋✋

I've been trying for some time now to find a counter for my cakes, but none of them did fit.
In fact, the size of the one I bought was ok, but the cakes did not fit πŸ˜–πŸ˜«

So I had to make one myself, one where all my cakes that I wanted to display in there would fit nicely. Here's a first glimpse, but so far, there's just the base coat, meaning it's not the color I have in mind for it when it's finished.

An this is what it looks like in the finished project ... lalala

ME BE HAPPY πŸ˜‚πŸ˜„πŸ˜ƒπŸ‘‹πŸ‘‹

By the way, have you spotted the difference between the 2 pictures above ????
Go have a look at the post with the name BLOOPERS and you'll see what I mean, lol

The picture above show another I made, especially for the shop window.
I found these self adhesive mirrors in a hobby shop not far from where I live here in Germany. They have a good size, are easy to cut and are self-adhesive

I thought it would be a nice touch to display these items on a mirror, since the customers will see this from the outside

Here another counter I made for the tearoom upstairs

Work in progress .... I used balsa wood for the counter itself, and some of that wooden trimming (you usually find that in a dollhouse shop under Mouldings or so)

I kept the sink from an old piece of furniture that I had to throw away some time ago .... very good that I did that, so I had one for my project here. I mean, I need a sink in the tearoom in order to wash a few plates and cups

I just love that coffee maker ..... just couldn't resist πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—

I added some faux glass to the counter, so that the customers on the other side have some privacy

And here's what it looks like in the finished room

There's more to come .... check out the post about interior decoration

A good reason to keep coming back

See ya
